Who says you can't have fun for free in the Queen City? Looking for a little entertainment that won't break the bank? Check out this list of free events happening each and every week in Charlotte. You know the saying on all the billboards, "Charlotte's got a lot." Well, it is definitely true, and the best part of all that "a lot" is the fact that you can do a good chunk of it for free! Yep. Establishments all over the city host free events on a weekly basis, so we wanted to give you a rundown of something awesome that you can do, every night of the week! There is no excuse for being bored around here. Monday Monday is usually the most dreaded day of the week, but it may just turn into your favorite day when you start frequenting the Jazz Jam at Crown Station. All the free jazz you can listen to starts at 10 pm on Monday evenings. The Crown Station is located in NoDa and offers fair trade coffee and teas, as well as a craft beers and premium cocktails. Conveniently located near the light rail. Take back your Monday at the Jazz Jam! Tuesday Work up a sweat at a free boot camp fitness class every Tuesday night! Stax on South Tryon hosts one of the biggest free fitness classes in Charlotte with celebrity trainer Randy Moss. Moss was a former NFL star that played 14 seasons for the Minnesota Vikings! He will get you in shape whether you want to or not! Wednesday Get cultured at the Mint Museum on Wednesday nights! Both locations offer free admission from 5-9 pm. Stroll the galleries and get acquainted with the art scene here in Charlotte without spending a dime. Thursday Everyone knows that the Epicentre is a good place to find a little entertainment, but if you want to have fun on the cheap, then head over to the centre on Thursday nights for Alive After Five! The perfect way to kick off the summer, the free bands playing on the rooftop and plenty of food and drink specials to make it a cheap night all around! Friday Mambo Fridays is a sultry way to start off your weekend. Learn to dance on the Peculiar Rabbit rooftop overlooking the city skyline. RUMBAO Latin Dance Company will be hitting the boards every Friday to show Charlotte that the hips definitely don't lie. Saturday Just in case you didn't get your fill of live music yet for the week, the US National White Water Center wants to give you another chance! Saturday nights can be spent chilling by the water while listening to local, regional, and nationally touring bands at RiverJam! While the event itself is free, there is a small charge for parking at the venue. Sunday Delve into a little friendly competition before starting up the work week once again with Music Bingo at the Casual Pint! The games are hosted by one of our very own Fat City Entertainment hosts, and all the shows are a big hit with the crowd. It is free to play, and everyone gets a chance to win some of the fun prizes provided by local breweries! There it is, a whole week of fun for zero cash. Keep your dollars for more important things like sampling the new brews or snacking on chicken wings...or you know, for car payments and rent. Whatever.
