There's a moment at every Thanksgiving. The turkey's gone, the pie isn't ready, and half the table is drifting toward the couch while the other half starts a conversation you really don't want to referee. That gap is where a host earns their keep.
We've been filling gaps like that since 1999. A good game gets people off their phones and back around the table, arguing about something harmless instead of something that isn't. So here are two free ones for Thanksgiving: a trivia round that loads in one tap, and bingo cards you can print before the guests arrive.
The Free Trivia RoundLoad the Thanksgiving trivia round. It opens in our free Trivia Show Maker with all ten questions ready, plus a host sheet with the answers so you can read them out without squinting at your phone. Print it, fold it, keep it next to the gravy.
We're not printing the answers here, because the fun is in the room. But here's a taste:
The first one, everybody gets. The last one, somebody's uncle will swear he knows and then won't.
It comes in as round one of a fresh show. If you're feeling ambitious, the other four rounds are yours to fill.
Free Thanksgiving Bingo CardsOur sister site has free Thanksgiving bingo cards and word lists ready to go. Pick a list, print a card per person, and hand out pens with the dessert plates.
Bingo is the secret weapon for a mixed-age table. Grandpa doesn't need to know any pop culture. The six-year-old doesn't need to read fast. Everyone has the same shot.

Family Table vs FriendsgivingThese are two different rooms, and they want two different hosts.
At the family table, keep it gentle. You've got three generations and a dog under the table. Play in teams by household or by side of the table, so nobody gets singled out. Read questions slowly. Let Aunt Carol have the answer she nearly got. The goal is everyone laughing at the same time, which at some family dinners is a minor miracle.
At Friendsgiving, you can turn it up. Teams of three or four, a scorekeeper with a whiteboard or the back of a takeout menu, and real stakes: losers do the dishes. Friends will heckle. Let them. Add a house rule that a wrong answer has to be defended out loud for ten seconds. It's the best part of the night.
The Kids' VersionKids are the best trivia players at the table because they have no shame about guessing. A few ways to bring them in:
How to Run It in 20 Minutes Between Dinner and PieYou don't need a whole evening. You need the window between the last plate cleared and the pie coming out of the oven.
That's it. Twenty minutes, nobody on the couch, and a story to tell at next year's dinner.
Thanksgiving Weekend Is When the Office Party Gets BookedHere's a thing every host learns: the Monday after Thanksgiving, someone at work asks, "Are we doing anything for Christmas?" If your Thanksgiving game went well, that someone is probably asking you.
Get ahead of it. Our Christmas trivia and music bingo page has the whole season in one place, and Christmas music bingo is the quickest way to get a room of coworkers singing along.
