Music Bingo: The 70s
Do you have regular parties with your oldest friends where things kinda get boring? We just created this new awesome Bingo Night game for you! If your friends loved the 70s (or even lived through them) this game is for them!

Planning a 70s party

Spice up your party making it full 70s theme! All you need is the following:
  • Decor
  • Costumes
  • Food
  • Fun games
Here's how you can handle all of them:

Decor

The 70s means disco, and nothing is more disco than a disco ball! You don't even have to spend that much on one, a simple and cheap one like this one hung from a thread with a couple of lights pointed to it should be perfect! You can also get some cheap disco lights to light up the party!

This is also a great time to dust off some old vinyl records and lava lamps. Finally get all metallic balloons and streamers and bright-colored table cloths. You can also use some cheap fuzzy dice from a gas station and keep some 70s shows on the tv. Decor for the 70s can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it

Costumes

Getting a costume doesn't have to be expensive. The 70s were disastrous for fashion but very fun to play dress-up! Think of bad afros, giant platform shoes, round sunglasses, bell bottom pants and shiny, colorful make-up! You probably have some of that in your closet already, all you might need is a cheap afro wig and sideburns! Keep some of those laying around for guests to use.

Extra points for anyone wearing roller skates!

Food

You can use any food sold in a roller skating rink, think hot dogs, nachos, casseroles and burgers.

If you want to step it up a notch and really give your party an unforgettable twist, you can always try and prepare some dishes from that famous Buzzfeed post about weird 70s food. Keep in mind, unless they're truly Generation X, people may not like those so one or two dishes from there as a prop more than a main dish is probably your safest bet.

Fun Games

You can have the best food and decor with an audience that got in costume. All of that is meaningless if they aren't having fun! And what better way to ensure they're having fun than with an awesome 70s-themed music bingo!

Bingo was huge in the 70s so you and your guests can have a lot of fun while listening to Santana, ABBA and the Jackson 5! We curated a list so all you have to do is get the game, print the sheets and play! This is a perfect thing to have under your sleeve to know that, even if the food isn't great or your guests don't know each other very well, they'll come out knowing that they just had an amazing time!

Hello, I purchased and downloaded your 70’s Music Bingo as well as the playlist from Apple and your free host handbook (thank you!), but I can’t seem to find step by step instructions... for instance, do you play the whole song? Can you help?
Thank you!
Dani

Hi Dani,

Here's a blog post that might help a little with your setup, but really any speaker system will do!

As far as how much of the song to play, that's kind of up to your host, and maybe how many prizes you want to give away. If you want to give away lots of smaller prizes, you can move through songs quicker, as well as having multiple winners per game. FOr instance, "First 5 people to get a line. Then first person to get an X or a +, You can even go for blackout, just remember that if you play ALL the songs, EVERYONE has a blackout :)

I recommend playing 60-90 seconds of each song, especially for "The 70s" as most are classic songs, and your guests will want to hear their favorite chorus.

I hope this helps! You can click the "music bingo" category tab in our blog to read all the different posts regarding music bingo, or email questions@fatcityentertainment.com for a quick response.

Have a great show!
