July The 4th Be With You! That's the Star Wars thing, right?

7/4/2022

I'm kidding, of course. Don't cancel me. I came out of my hole to share a great offer for everyone for a, hopefully, happy Summer this bright and shiny... and rainy and windy 2022!

I know it's the 4th of July and that's a great day to celebrate across the USA, but our games now travel even further than that, so I want to recognize the Music Bingo Enthusiasts in Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, and now even Turkey! Holy moly, word is getting out how cool this game is. If you're reading this and have known about Fat City games for some time now, then congratulate yourselves for helping to pioneer the movement back into social venues, and our shared passion for live entertainment.

There are a lot of things to stress about in the world today, but downloading and printing fun inexpensive Music Bingo games should not be one of them.

Have you been hosting Music Bingo events already? We want to hear about it!

Please share in the comment section below, or email us directly at questions@fatcityentertainment.com.

Some common questions we want to ask you about you and your shows are:
  1. What kind of venue do you perform at?
  2. What is the age range or demographic of your audience?
  3. How long does your show usually run for?
  4. Do you give away prizes?
  5. How long from each song do you like to play? Are you a fast DJ, or does your crowd typically take their time to dance and sing?

Anything unique or something else that you think we would be interested in hearing about, please let us know. Let's get this discussion going, and better yet, convince those around us that fun live entertainment events like this are therapeutic, relaxing and break barriers. From one table to the next, our main goal is to get people out of their comfort zone, right? Maybe the dance a little, or remember an old forgotten memory, or meet a new friend.

Keep it up out there, Friends. I know you are doing a great job, and truly helping your community.

Beware of what you see, because not everything is what they appear to be. Or in this case, sound! This is a very different and a fun take on different songs over so many eras. It’s the April Fool’s Theme Pack and this time, it features songs that sound so similar to each other but at the same time, it also may or may not sound the same. Songs like Got To Give It Up By Marvin Gaye and Blurred lines by Robin Thicke may sound extremely similar to each other but at the same time, songs like I'm Coming Out by Diana Ross and Mo Money, Mo Problems by Notorious B.I.G may have some samples that sound very close but aren’t the same song at all. It’s a very fun edition and one can learn about new songs and it could be their new groove. So buckle up! Looks (or in this case, the sounds!) may seem incredibly deceiving so don’t let yourself be tricked or fooled now!

As with every party, first you need to decorate the room. There aren’t a lot of themed decorations for this one. However, like we mentioned earlier, looks may be deceiving. You can choose to use a balloon arch if you want and maybe put up some frames of clowns and jokers around. One funny thing could be that you could probably add in a clown behind a fake frame, if that’s possible. You can also do simple things like add in a whoopee cushion or a fake pinata, something that drops random objects when broken or almost never breaks despite so many futile attempts. You can greet your guests with a fake hand if that makes things a lot more interesting. Other decorations also include a pinata in the shape of the number one and again, fill it with the most random things you could find.

Next up is dressing sense. This might be fairly easy. Ask your guests to dress up in some of the goofiest dresses they could or they could pretend to be someone else or maybe even have a couple of tricks up their sleeves. They can even dress up like a clown if they wanted to. There are so many ways you can go with this. Some ideas are the classic long handkerchief gimmick or they could have a flower on their coat (if they are wearing one) that squirts water. Simple but fun additions to their regular dresses can also be encouraged! After all, it’s all about having fun!

Let’s take a look at food. There’s so much potential here! Especially since there exist so many recipes that look different but tastes completely opposite! For example, you can make a meatloaf cupcake with mashed potato frosting. It’s easy for almost anyone to be fooled by that, especially since it closely resembles a good old chocolate cupcake! Or you also have the option of preparing regular dishes like cream puffs but there’s a catch - one of the pastries might have something else other than a sweet filling! It’s a fun prank to play and basically, a Russian roulette version using cream puffs. You can also make jello in a glass with a straw, tricking your guests into thinking that it’s an actual drink but once they drink using the straw, they’ll be surprised!

Now for the showcase event, the bingo itself! You can ask someone talented to sing it with the karaoke in the background or if it makes things easier, you can always play it using our amazing playlist that’s available on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. While the songs are being played, you can always ask the guests to join in if they know the lyrics to the song or if you have a large enough space to host it, you can also ask them to dance to the song. Making a party lively is what makes it a party. And since it is April Fool’s themed, you can play some random tracks and ask them to identify it but there’s a catch - it isn’t part of the playlist! It just adds to the fun!

Finally, you need to leave your guests with a memorable gift. One interesting gift you can give them is a simple t-shirt that says ‘You can’t trick me’ if they have managed to bypass all the tricks laid out there. Or for the winner of the game, you can give them a bunch of Post-Its that already have ‘Kick Me’ written on it. Alternatively, you can give them a whoopee cushion if you can!

These are some ideas that your guests would certainly enjoy for the April Fool’s Themed Music Bingo and if you have better ideas, feel free to let us know! Again, you can find the playlist on every major music streaming platform like Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

Despite the fact that we all were born in different eras, one thing we can all agree is that there are some songs from every era starting from the 60s all the way to the early 2000s that stay in our head for so long and just makes us want to play it all on repeat. We have so many incredible and talented music artists from those decades, featuring Maroon 5 from the early 2000s, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin from the 60s, Black Sabbath and Dolly Parton from the 70s, Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen from the 80s, and bands like Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers from the 90s! So many amazing songs and artists! This game pack is definitely well worth the value, especially since you save up to 24% instead of buying these games separately.

Still thinking about the potential ideas with this mega game pack? Here are some amazing ideas for every era in this game pack!

The important thing to remember about these game packs is the fact that this is fun in a party or if you’re running a bar, you can certainly have so many music bingo nights with this. Now, if you’re going to be running any one of the eras in this pack, you’ll need matching decorations to go with each to set the mood and vibe in the room. Let’s start from the bottom up.

The 60s had a very diverse and bright set of decor to begin with. You can put up a ton of lava lamps across the room, tie-dyes and photos of posters of Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and other popular music bands and artists. Popular color schemes during the 60s were colors like coral, mustard, turquoise among many. Obviously, being able to add a peace sign or a massive light up peace sign. Alternatively, using neon signs would also be a good decorative piece. would be great!

Next, the 70s. You could reuse some decorative pieces from the 60s here and that’d definitely help with cost if you plan hosting another party after the 60s. You can have a massive disco ball hanging from the ceiling with strobe lights and smoke machines to complement it. Instead of hanging frames of music artists and bands, you can instead use disco vinyl records and some incredibly (but not obnoxiously) bright colored table cloths as well.

The 80s is a fairly easy era to work with in terms of decorations. During the 80s, neon colors were incredibly popular and using those colors would definitely go a long way in making an 80s based theme more authentic. Every invite, every club back in the day was filled with neon color decor. You certainly will be hitting the brief of an 80s themed party. Consider using black as well for contrast. Another cool thing that can be used as decor is essentially an arcade game or even a photo booth. That’ll be nailing the brief!

As for the 90s, well that again could be done easily! You can throw some confetti squares and triangles around. You can also hang some old 90s technology like floppy disks or CDs or maybe even VHS tapes! Even small things like Magic 8 Balls can be used as centerpieces on the table. If possible, you can rent a classic arcade game like Pac Man or Street Fighter and that provides both functionality and aesthetics to the party.

You can apply the same 90s decor for a 2000s themed party as well, though less confetti would be a nice touch. The early 2000s were a much simpler time than the one we live in right now. The internet was still growing and new consoles were out in the market. Instead of using arcades, you can pick up a PlayStation 1 or the original Xbox since that was around the time these new generations of consoles came out. You can also use some old CDs again or you can play the songs on a DVD player, if that’s possible!

Now that we are sorted on the decor part of the party, let’s move on to the dress code for each era.
For the 60s, loose and comfortable was something that was popular back then. Women can wear long skirts in earthy colors like brown or with patterns. Men can wear clothes like a vest, jeans in brown or darker tones. Obviously, both men and women can wear bell bottom jeans and if you want to, you can wear a poncho, especially if you will be having the party outside.

Next up, the 70s. The main emphasis here was bell-bottom pants, floral shirts and psychedelic and geometric prints. It isn’t massively different compared to the 60s so you could reuse some things. Some clothes like an army jacket, gaucho pants, tight corduroy are some ideas that you can look for. Afro and mullets were famous back then, if you want to change your hairstyle.

As for the 80s, you can ask your guests to wear leg warmers, animal prints clothes and a lot of neon colored clothes. You can also ask them to come as their favorite 80s musicians as well, making things interesting. Some ideas are lace blouses, ripped jeans and clothes along those lines.

The 90s is an interesting time. Mom jeans, cargo pants and bike shorts were incredibly famous back then. Crop tops and pleated skirts (similar to the one in the movie, Clueless?) were famous as well. Your guests can draw inspiration from the popular TV show, Friends as well.

The 2000s was where denim started to trend. You can expect your guests to wear bright colored and shiny outfits. They can also wear cardigans, a denim jacket along with a pair of denim jeans and also velour track sets. One thing for sure is that your guests can wear a lot of denim based products!

Those are some basic ideas you can use for your amazing themed music bingo party! Additionally, to make things more interesting, you can award your guests in some manner, either if they win or being the best dressed or simple things like that. For every era, you can give them small things like a disco ball keychain, an old console like the PS1, scrunchies, just small things that are actually reminiscent of the particular era.

These are some ideas that your guests would certainly enjoy for the Guitar Gods and if you have better ideas, feel free to let us know! You can find the playlist on every major music streaming platform like Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

Happy music bingo!

Get your St. Patrick's Day music bingo card downloads today! We have playlists ready to go, so you can get in the spirit of the holiday.

We have all been there, night of St Patrick's Day, green beer everywhere, including spilling down your back from the guy who started “celebrating” a little too early.

Step 1: Ditch the green beer and step up your game with easy, simple, and much more impressive green cocktails!
Especially if you’re working in a bar, create your own green cocktail using midori or sour apple schnapps. Or just add some green food coloring to champagne and take your party from frat-phat!
  • 1.5 oz Midori
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz Sweet and Sour mix
  • 0.5 oz sprite.
  • Add 1 oz vodka for a little extra kick!

Step 2: Drop some knowledge! Did you know that St Patrick was born in Britain?
Did you know that the original color for St Patricks day was blue? Or that it used to be a dry holiday? These are interesting nuggets of information to drop during conversation or you can turn your whole party into a trivia night while still playing tunes with Fat Bottom Trivia 3.2 - "St Paddy's Day Party" and the St Paddy's Music dobOFF Bingo Cards.

You can choose your own questions or pick from a variety of
pre-made games for less than ten bucks. Always a fun way to keep everyone entertained!

Step 3: Party favors! Now that you’re throwing the most authentic soiree around, stick with traditions!
For over 60 years, the Prime Minister of Ireland has presented the President of the United states with a bowl of Shamrocks as a symbol of good tidings. Starting in 1952 with President Truman and Prime Minister Kenny, it has become a long standing tradition between the two countries. I’m not saying you need to hand out an entire bowl, but Amazon has packs of shamrock shot glasses and necklaces that can be at your door in two days!

Step 4: Food.
A necessity for any event, but especially one that is solely focused around excessive consumption of alcohol. No need to get fancy, a beef stew or an extra large shepherd's pie will feed many and fill your guests with enough sustenance to counteract at least a few of those cocktails. And don’t you dare forget those potatoes!
